Building Capacity in Skilled Trades for Nuclear
  We are looking to increase the number of Indigenous people working in the nuclear industry.  Kagita Mikam, Ontario Power Generation and the Electrical Power Systems Construction Association will be placing workers on some of OPG's most diverse and innovative projects, including the Darlington Refurbishment project.

What is ION?

ION’s goal is to recruit and retain Indigenous People for work in the nuclear industry with the Darlington Refurbishment Project as the catalyst.  Kagita Mikam Aboriginal Employment & Training, in partnership with Ontario Power Generation, are seeking  job ready Indigenous individual's to connect with trade opportunities at OPG during the 2 year program timeframe.

Demand will peak in 2023 and the need for trades people will be high with the majority in Boilermakers, Pipefitters, Electricians and Millwrights.
